Former captain and current player liaison officer Mark O’Brien believes Newport County are in a “phenomenal” position considering the significant changes made at the club over the summer. The Exiles parted company with boss Graham Coughlan in June before bringing in Nelson Jardim as head coach. Jardim’s side are 10th after the opening 10 matches of the League Two campaign, sitting just four points adrift of leaders Walsall.
