Teenager Harry Ashfield faces the challenge of turning himself into a regular having made his first senior start in Wrexham’s EFL Trophy win over Wolverhampton Wanderers Under-21s on Tuesday. Local lad Ashfield, 18, has been at Wrexham since he was aged six and was named academy player of the year in 2023-24. The midfielder made his senior bow as a late substitute in the EFL Trophy last season, and came off the bench again in the same competition against Salford City last month.
